Each have different requirements dependent on their location within the vehicle with different operating requirements for temperature, voltage and reliability level.

AVX offers a wide range of Automotive Solid Electrolytic Capacitors in three product families. Each of these technologies bring specific and unique features to best suit the specific application requirements and expectations.

  • Conventional Tantalum / MnO2 Capacitors
    (Long life time, no wear out mechanism, stable capacitance, high operating temperature)
  • Conductive Polymer Solid Electrolytics
    (very low ESR, benign failure mode, high voltage ratings)
  • Niobium Oxide (OxiCap®) Capacitors
    (extreme stability, unique high resistance / open current / benign failure mode, stable capacitance / extremely stable performance ideal for low voltage automotive applications)
  • High Temperature MnO2 Capacitors capable of meeting automotive and industrial standards for high temperature capacitors (175°C operating) including AEC-Q200
