IT Service Delivery Engineer – Server/Storage

Location: Timisoara, Romania
Job Description:
This role will be responsible for the on-going operation of IT service delivery in Romania and as part of a global virtual team providing remote assistance to installations around the world, delivering a professional IT service, based on appropriate recognized best practice, to support our evolving business goals.

Head of IT Sensing and Control
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Be the first point of contact for IT issues. Take ownership of IT issues and follow them through to ensure they are complete even if passed to another colleague in the IT team
  • Work within a virtual team to provide support to staff around the global with IT issues escalating where necessary to other teams. You are responsible for any escalated calls and will ensure that these are resolved acceptably to both parties
  • Manage company phone systems and time clock systems
  • Responsible to ensure adequate backups are completed
  • Monitor the availability of local and global systems through existing portals and log/resolve/escalate issues
  • Be a point of contact for all server/storage related problems globally. Work the service delivery managers to provide fast and effective response to support requirements
  • Providing technical assistance and training to computer users on the application software, hardware and computer services
  • Responsible for monitoring and tracking usage of IT resource and presenting requirements with detailed analysis to IT management team at least 8 months before it is critical
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers on software, hardware, telecommunication for leased line and telephone system to maintain proper relationship for better maintenance and support for local systems
Job Requirements:
  • Knowledge of ITIL Service Management and process execution
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows client and server operating systems
  • Experienced in HP server and storage technologies
  • English is the language of AVX and an ability to communicate in English is required
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing company
  • Experience with Backup Exec desirable
  • Experience with Service monitoring tools expected
  • Knowledge of VOIP PBX systems
  • At least 3 years’ experience in IT
