The Principal RF Applications Engineer will directly interface with the technical sales force and Design Applications Engineers to support adoption of AVX RFS products and solutions. Will engage in definition and development of customer specifications and standard, custom, or derivative products with a focus on the 5G marketplace. Interfaces with design center personnel during execution of projects and with customers while providing technical support and expertise to the Sales and Marketing teams.
Sr. Director, Ethertronics
Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct interface to the (RFS) technical sales force and to Design Applications Engineers located in the Ethertronics global design center network.
Responsible for supporting adoption of AVX RFS products and solutions across multiple markets with a particular focus on the 5G marketplace.
Engages in the definition and development of customer specifications for standard, custom, and derivative products in a wide variety of wireless devices and applications, across a wide frequency range in different form factors from single radiators to integrated RF modules.
Interfaces with design center personnel during execution of projects; member of extended implementation team providing technical expertise and customer perspective.
Has knowledge and clear understanding of theoretical and practical aspects dealing with antennas, antenna arrays, feed networks for arrays and typical RF front-end modules and circuits.
Proficient in clearly communicating directions and in influencing people in adopting the best solutions, tools, working practices and promoting cooperation in defining and executing an excellent technical product.
Displays aptitude for continuous improvement in all aspects of the position leading to the highest efficiency, best engineering results, and highest customer satisfaction.
Must work with minimum supervision.
MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree required.
7-12 years of industry experience in RF and antennas including experience in product marketing and/or sales support roles, or in field or customer applications engineering.
Experience with EM simulation tools such as CST Microwave Studio, and Ansys HFSS.
Knowledge of RF and antenna design considerations including RF circuit design, EMC, ESD protection, high-speed interconnect; RF and high-density layout, and antenna design, verification, and characterization techniques.
Should be familiar with reviewing board layouts and circuit schematics; working knowledge of IC design and silicon
Knowledge of antenna manufacturing processes is a plus.
Proven track record of bringing successful products to market.
Comfortable working in a cross-functional organizational structure.
