Inside Sales Engineer

Location: San Diego, CA
Job Description:
AVX is seeking a highly motivated, versatile and skilled professional with an engineering technical background to support our design center and work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment. The inside sales engineer assumes responsibility for the administrative and technical support to the San Diego Design Center team, and will act as a coordinator between the sales team and engineering team, in the day-to-day management of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer technical requirements, document inputs, evaluate feasibility and generate SOW when required
  • Document project activities, generate reports, and cross-reference engineering project records with Sales CRM database. In case of inconsistency, drive resolution
  • Support RFQ process: sending request to Rep firm, identifying project information, and checking on correctness of RFQ
  • Coordinate with Sales/Supply chain and oversee factory teams to assure NPI projects traceability from initiation to production
  • Support Engineering change notification tracking and part qualification process with internal San Diego quality team and oversee factories
  • Coordinate with marketing for all Standard Part number request from creation to MP and assure proper tracking
  • Work with sales team, rep firm and general manager to manage small and medium customers and define resources requirements
  • Work with marketing to create date sheet and modify existing data sheet
  • Coordinate customer projects among mechanical group, RF engineer group and project managers. Support meeting scheduling and transcription
  • Coordinate with Rep firm to track NRE and assure any open NRE quote is invoiced on time
  • Provide feedback, on a periodic basis, to product manager and general manager based on learned customer and market requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (EE or ME preferred) or 3-5 year experience in an engineering role providing technical support to sales team
  • Fast paced and adaptable to changing organization dynamics and imperfect information
  • Self-motivated and resourceful individual
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Ability to use sound judgment and to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details
  • Experiences with wireless/antenna systems is a plus
