This person will be responsible for designing and validate wireless parts design and assemblies, from concept to high manufacturing volumes, while maintaining high quality for manufacturability. In addition to the above duties, this person will be responsible for managing & sustaining engineering projects, which will include developing tools development schedules, drawing packages, bills of materials. A self-directed individual with strong communication skills and the ability to multitask is desired. This person must have a minimum of 8 years of Mechanical design experience in the area of electronic industry working with CAD tools designing sheet metal, and plastic parts. A minimum of a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. It is a requirement that candidate have a proficient knowledge CREO and a great experience in designing small parts, preferably having an experience in antenna designs. The candidate should be able to design parts using LDS, dual shot molding, Stamping, FPC and PCB technologies to support the engineering designs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing and validate wireless parts design and assemblies, from concept to high manufacturing volumes, while maintaining high quality for manufacturability.
Responsible for managing & sustaining engineering projects, which will include developing tools development schedules, drawing packages, bills of materials.
8 years minimum design and development experience (in electronic industry)
Experience in manufacturing technologies for connectors or antenna
Knowledge of designing sheet metal parts (progressive and soft tool)
Knowledge of designing plastic parts for injection molding (simple, dual shot, LDS)
Proficient in PRO Engineer Wilde Fire and CREO, Sheet Metal, Assemblies
Proficient in using LPKF milling machines for prototyping
Proficient in using 3D printers for plastic prototypes for prototyping or small series
Proficient in wire cut
Clear understanding on manufacturing tolerances for the above mentioned technologies.
Prototype metal and plastics using CNC CAD/CAM and hand tools.
Proficient in use of MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Ability to work well in a fast paced team environment and with factory team in China.
Good communication skills (English is a must, French or Chinese are a plus) • Flexibility in work approach to deal appropriately with tight timelines and changing priorities
