The Global Specification Manager is responsible for managing the Specification Engineers and Technicians with a goal of maximizing the success of the Specification Engineering department. This involves all AVX product lines as well as handling new product releases. In addition, this individual will work closely with the sales team, marketing managers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, accounting as well as the logistics groups in the USA as well as Specification Engineer teams located in other AVX facilities globally. Additional responsibilities will include, developing automated systems for product specification entry and maintenance, working with IT and other applicable groups to provide assistance with the factories related to specification management.
Corporate Quality Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the flow and execution of requests for drawing and specification reviews for all AVX products.
Responsible for the process of creation and maintenance of specifications master files that detail product processes, testing, bill of materials, routings, and packaging.
Responsible for customer specification reviews.
Responsible for ensuring product specifications are documented accurately in applicable electronic systems.
Manages escalation of errors or questions related to drawing or specification reviews and maintenance.
Direct Specification teams globally on process changes or priorities based on the business directives.
Monitor request metrics; evaluate opportunities for program improvements with process changes or training.
Establish and document processes with Policies, Procedures, or Guidance documents that support the Global Specification program initiatives; develop and execute training using external and internal platforms, including classroom and web based methods. Monitor alignment of plant to corporate documents through gap assessments.
Assist in communications for Corporate Quality, such as new policies, training, or news events, using the AVX intranet or social media platforms; assist in the maintenance of the current information posted.
Provide metrics and reports related to the health of the Specification program to management and customers upon request.
Mentor Specification personnel to the required policies, procedures, and tools applicable to the Global Specification program.
Assist plant teams through investigation and closure of escalated nonconformance events related to product specifications upon request of the management team.
This position requires a Bachelor Degree and at least Four years related experience; engineering discipline and experience preferred.
Should have a working knowledge of BOMs, specification data, and the ability to read and understand component product drawings.
Working knowledge of COSI and GSOP; SAP experience a plus
