Quality Assurance Lab Technician

Location: Greenville, SC
Job Description:
The QA Technician will provide support to the Quality Assurance Laboratory, run reliability tests, collect data, and report results. This position requires the use of advanced inspection equipment to check the integrity of electronic components.
Reports To:
QA Lab Supervisor
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Understand, operate, and troubleshoot advanced inspection equipment
  • Manage and perform product inspection activities
  • Maintain detailed records and generate inspection reports
  • Collect and summarize data for supervisor
  • Identify and solve problems with limited supervisor assistance
  • Train operators to perform product inspection and assist in solving problems
  • Note: Some travel will be required for training especially during the first 6-10 weeks of employment
Job Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; AS degree preferred
  • 3 years experience in a technical manufacturing and/or testing environment
  • Ability to manage time well and support the needs of multiple product lines
  • Computer skills:
    • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools
    • Able to perform data entry
  • Math skills:
    • Working knowledge of basic arithmetic, negative numbers, power & roots, decimals and fractions, algebra and basic statistics
  • Verbal/communication:
    • Able to read and understand technical documents, process specifications, and office correspondence.
    • Able to communicate clearly, both written and verbally.
  • Technical skills:
    • Able to use or learn the use of laboratory test equipment and to train others to its use
    • Working knowledge of basic electricity, electronics, and circuits
    • Mechanical aptitude sufficient to understand the detailed operation of test equipment
    • Aptitude for troubleshooting and the ability to obtain expertise in the reliability testing of electronic components
