The Global Quality Management Systems (QMS) Manager will be responsible to actively participate in creating a sustainable culture of quality. Responsibilities include monitoring the audit program for certification to required standards, maintenance of Document Management, and coordinating quality agreement and contract reviews. Assist the plants with QMS related escalations, and help with the development of the Corporate Quality Program future state vision. The Global QMS Manager will assist in the development and execution of training to new policies and processes related to the QMS program with a focus to improve quality metrics.
Manager, Corporate Quality
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct Quality agreement and contract reviews, working with plant Quality and Engineering teams, as well as other applicable departments, to ensure accurate response to the customer that aligns to AVX policy.
Assist in the implementation of a standardized electronic document management system by monitoring project plans, working with assigned IT resources, and addressing roadblocks or escalations.
Monitor the Process/Product Change Notification (PCN) process and mentor PCN owners to improve overall execution of the process. Evaluate opportunities for program improvements with template changes and/ or training courses.
Monitor required industry standards and certification renewals; conduct gap analysis with changes or additions to standards; work with the plants to monitor internal and external audit results and metrics.
Monitor supplier management through audit and self-assessment metrics; evaluate opportunities for program improvements with template or process changes.
Establish and document processes with Policies, Procedures, or Guidance documents that support the QMS program initiatives; develop and execute training using external and internal platforms, including classroom and web based methods. Monitor alignment of plant to corporate documents through gap assessments.
Assist in the implementation of the SAP Quality Module to meet the needs of the QMS program, working with all AVX facilities and Corporate IT, to support defining the AVX Quality structure.
Assist in communications for Corporate Quality, such as new policies, training, or news events, using the AVX intranet or social media platforms; assist in the maintenance of the current information posted.
Provide metrics and reports related to the health of the QMS program to management and customers upon request.
Mentor Quality personnel to the required Quality policies, procedures, and tools applicable to the QMS program.
Assist plant teams through investigation and closure of escalated nonconformance events upon request of the management team.
This position requires a Bachelor Degree and at least Four years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience with Quality Management Systems
A thorough knowledge of relevant QMS standards such as ISO9001, IATF16949, AS9100, ISO13485, VDA6, and TS22163. Automotive experience a plus.
Experience with 8D problem solving including 5 Why, Fishbone analysis, and Is/Is Not; Kepner-Tregoe a plus.
Demonstrated results working with QMS in manufacturing operations. Low volume/high mix model experience as well as non-manufacturing value stream implementation experience preferred.
