Manage and provide direction for global AVX ERP systems. Provide leadership and guidance for implementations and integrations of new solutions. Responsible for the overall ERP roadmap and related application architecture. Manage the conversion of legacy systems worldwide to the AVX Corporate Global ERP system. Manage technical and functional team members in support of these systems.
Global IT Director
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the global ERP systems in each AVX region in coordination with the IT groups and third party consultants.
Serve as lead Project Manager over global ERP implementation, acting as liaison between AVX site managers and consultants.
Plan and manage the execution of implementation projects, including day to day project management, issues, and risk management.
Partner with various business stakeholders to roll out new processes, functionality, and ongoing process improvements to the systems. Collaborate with key employees to identify and implement functionality that provides operational improvements
Possesses an in-depth understanding of the functional processes and business strategy and is viewed as a credible representative of AVX business users. Communicates and coordinates with other team leads, business leadership, IT and/or vendors to ensure appropriate integration of processes and ERP modules.
Has a strong understanding and experience in ERP best practices methodology. Works with the business teams to define requirements and map business processes to ERP modules (often in conjunction with consultants.) Assist in the identification of and resolution of gaps in the business processes.
Performs configuration, change management and testing activities as required. Collaborates with IT to maintain ERP systems security through user profile management. Creates and updates access permissions and maintains user accounts.
Assist in identifying recommendations for enhancements/changes that may involve custom design, optional, and third-party products to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of ERP system. Consults users on technology changes that will impact work processes.
Partner with ERP system vendor to resolve issues related to the use or functionality of the ERP system
Serves as point-of-contact for Power Users. Performs problem identification and on-the-spot training to prevent problem re-occurrence and knowledge transfer. Escalates Tier 2 problems to appropriate support (e.g., technical experts or process experts).
Oversees the creation of documentation and training materials and may deliver training.
Service oriented and highly knowledgeable about technology enabled business solutions.
Manages ERP specialist personnel.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or related field is required.
Must have successfully managed at least two large scale ERP implementation projects.
PMP certification is a plus.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in multiple functional areas (finance, inventory, order processing, manufacturing, purchasing, etc.)
Knowledge of Oracle financial systems/modules and sub-ledger accounting is required.
More than 5 years of overall business and accounting experience supporting Oracle eBusiness Suite is a strong plus.
SQL, PL/SQL familiarity required.
Ability to travel to AVX locations throughout U.S., Latin America, Europe, and Asia to assist with Global Oracle Implementation projects and perform training.
Strong understanding of financial and manufacturing business systems.
