General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The following is the latest on GDPR from AVX. This affects all of the facilities and personnel in our company including our subsidiary group companies.

GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation and is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union (EU) 2016/679. It is a transformative new law whose goal is to build a consistent, coherent data-protection framework across the European Union (EU) and any entities that do business within or have business interests with EU countries. It also regulates the export of personal data outside the EU.

AVX is working diligently to be compliant with the new policy and to introduce additional transparency in how we process data.

  • We have established a steering committee and charter being chaired by our corporate Head of Information Security.
  • We have appointed a Corporate Data Privacy Officer, who can be reached at DPO.avx@avx.com; consistent with the regulations.
  • We are adding a new Complaint Handling Procedure to comply with GDPR requirements.
  • We are updating our Privacy Policy to comply with the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements coming into effect on May 25, 2018. This includes a new cookie policy to make it easier to opt out and gives our customers greater choice.
  • We are adding a new Data Protection Agreement to comply with the GDPR requirements.
AVX understands the importance of protecting the privacy of all of its customers and the individuals who work with and for them and will continue to work to meet GDPR in all respects It is our corporate goal to strengthen our policies and procedures to ensure all such data is protected with the highest amount of control and transparency at all times.
