AVX tantalum division is announcing it will cease production of tantalum capacitors from operations at Tianjin, China to optimize production plans and cost saving programs.   Tianjin will continue its production for other AVX product lines such as film or ceramic components

The Tianjin factory assembled basic series of AVX tantalum capacitor line for mainly Chinese and Asian customers which will be continuously served by AVX tantalum divisions other manufacturing plants.   All our plants are fully qualified to the highest qualification standards using the same manufacturing processes and equipment and we do not anticipate any impact on part availability or lead-times. The Tianjin facility will stop its tantalum line operations effective 1st February 2009.
