AVX receives a best-in-class award for outstanding service to Lear

AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of advanced passive components and connectors, has received a 2006 Lear Supplier Hall of Fame Award for best-in-class service. AVX was acknowledged at the company’s ninth annual awards program where they were honored for exceeding expectations and demonstrating excellence in the areas of quality, delivery, service, competitiveness, and customer satisfaction using the Lear Supplier Rating System. This year’s recipients were chosen from more than 2,400 companies that supply Lear globally.

“Best-in-class customer service and quality are hallmarks of Lear’s culture and key measures to the success of any supplier,” said Doug DelGrosso, president and chief operating officer of Lear Corporation. “The Hall of Fame Award recipients we are honoring for 2006 exemplify the best traits of highly successful suppliers in the industry by providing the highest possible quality and service to Lear, our customers and ultimately the end users – automotive consumers. We congratulate these suppliers for the dedication to excellence.”

The Lear Hall of Fame Supplier Awards began in 1998 as a way to recognize the best-in-class suppliers to Lear’s North American operations. Since the program’s inception, 76 awards have been presented to Lear suppliers. More than 2,400 suppliers to Lear are eligible and award-winners are selected using the Lear Supplier Rating System, which measure performance in the key areas of quality, service, technology and competitiveness.

“We are delighted to accept this prestigious recognition from Lear, a leading global automotive supplier. Our goal is to continue with flawless execution and proactive development of leading edge, highly engineered, passive and interconnect components that contribute to the success of Lear in this very demanding marketplace,” said Pete Venuto, VP Sales at AVX.
